Jak 3 No QSW New Route

No QSW is short for No Quick Select Weapons, which means you are not allowed to use the scatter gun or any of it's gun mods.
The old route is essentially the no oob route, except it goes out of bounds in precursor robot. It's optimal time would have been around 50 minutes. However the new route can be finished in 25 minutes by doing gunless temple skip. It was theorized to be possible a long time ago, but to my knowledge no one had done it.
WoTin and I worked on the skip for a while and discovered strats that made it easy enough to do in runs.
It still follows the Any% route and that includes 7 minutes of roll jumps and swimming, but other than that it's a fun category.

This is nuts. Watching temple done on foot was interesting, how much of that tech was already known?

The three jumps along the wall used to be slightly different. You used to jump into the corners so it was 5 jumps instead of 3 before. The abahbounce strat was known, but the dark jak setup as well as the rocket uppercut are new. I'm not sure if people knew that making the jump around the circular door, the one that loads the next area, is possible without the concussor gun.

The dark jak extended uppercut and the rocket were the two that really stood out to me. Never seen either strat utilized in a jak3 run before, but that's probably because i haven't been around long enough. Fantastic work.

I found a video of Goofy358 doing gunless temple skip. The video was uploaded mid 2017 and has slightly different strats than the skip that I discovered.
